Webinar: A Revolution in Mind – A new Framework towards strategic procurement

Procurement has primarily been used to purchasing of products (MEAT) but limited attention to use procurement more strategically is given to address the specific needs and apply a procurement of Innovative Solution to advance towards Value Based Health Care. Rethinking is needed on role of innovation (Innovation ecosystems), to strategically use procurement to purchase (innovative) solution to address the challenge, issues and obtaining truly economic most advantageous tenders.

On 15 June, the participants of the Digital solutions in the healthcare sector working group  gathered for a virtual 2,5 hours webinar to learn and discuss the strategic relevance of innovation and value based procurement in the health care sector.

The webinar was divided into two blocks covering the two main topics of the session. The first block „New Thinking: INNOVATION ECOSYSTEM and INNOVATION PROCUREMENT“ was built up around four interesting presentations to gain insights on the innovation procurement approach in the Region of Puglia and the Basque Country. It further covered the topic of Innovation Ecosystems and case examples in Digital health care management.

The second block „New Thinking: A VALUE BASED PROCUREMENT - VALUE BASED INNOVATION PROCUREMENT“ covered the value based procurement approach to enable change. Participants learned more about the EURIPHI project and  the sustainability part of a strategic procurement in Health.

A second webinar is planned for September, to continue the valuable exchange on the topic in the framework of the working group. Stay up-to date on all latest actitivites, also on the working groups on Zero-emission construction sites, circular construction and electric heavy duty vehicles.
